DRA and Gilbane win 2019 CBC Project Team Award

The Connecticut Building Congress (CBC) recently presented DRA Architects and Gilbane Building Co. with the 2019 Project Team of the Year Award with First Place in the K-12 category for a collaborative team effort on Orchard Hill Elementary School in South Windsor, CT.

Orchard Hill Elementary School was the first and largest project to be completed under South Windsor’s three-phased, ten-year Elementary Facilities Plan. Gilbane and DRA worked cohesively with South Windsor Public Schools, the Town of South Windsor, and Colliers to deliver a state-of-the-art school with a cutting-edge STEM learning experience. The new school, completed on time and $1 million under budget, created a memorable mentoring experience for students and the community while generating excitement for the next phase of the Facilities Plan.
