Lyndon Institute – Campbell House

Lyndon Institute, an independent school in Vermont, is a traditional “New England Academy” enrolling both American and International students. The school needed to expand their residential offering to meet the demands of the popular boarding program that was re-established in 2003. After exploration of several options, the administration and Board of Trustees agreed with DRA’s recommendation to expand and renovate the existing Campbell Cottage.

The 26-bed facility includes a multi-function common area, a fitness room, two resident faculty apartments, a dining area and appropriate bathroom facilities for the common and bedroom areas. Certain elements of the project are designed to include “green” components.

To aid in the understanding of prioritization of the overall project challenges and needs, DRA held workshops with all key stakeholders, as well as representatives of the student body, faculty, and the general public. The project was completed in 2007.
