Regis College Fine Arts Center
Weston, MA
The siting of the fine arts center gives Regis College public visibility, as the rest of the college is tucked upon a wooded hill. The three main departments – drama, art, and music – spread from the central two-story lobby which is designed for large gatherings such as receptions for exhibits at the art gallery or theatre intermissions.
The first floor focuses on the 650-seat theater and the drama program including scene shop, green room, and a “black box” theater for 125 people. The second floor serves the music program with choral rehearsal, practice, and electronic music rooms; library; and administrative offices. The third floor meets the top of the site. It opens to a wide corridor suitable for student display and leads to the art department with lecture hall, offices, and studios.
