Springfield Police Building Study

Springfield, MA

This study and schematic design project involved the conversion an Army Reserve Center property into a multi-purpose public safety facility including a training academy, evidence storage, juvenile assessment center and space for the Police Department’s Tactical Response Unit. Our recommended design included reconfiguring spaces within the existing building, the addition
of a freight elevator and handicapped accessibility upgrades. It also included a renovate-as-new approach to the mechanical, electrical and technology/security systems for the facility. This
study was completed through DRA’s On-Call Services Contract with the City. Completed study in 2013.
